It all started when Robert Johns, Sr. (Bob) discovered his culinary passion while traveling the world with the U.S. Navy. Fifty years, five successful restaurants and bars, thousands of meals, and countless happy customers later, Robert’s son Rob is continuing the family tradition by opening Sabeli in Syosset.
Upon returning from Vietnam, Robert Johns, Sr. opened Poverty’s Pub, & The Nook & Cranny in Bay Ridge Brooklyn as well as the NC Grill in Franklin Square. His next adventure was opening the Anchorage on Main Street in Southampton.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Rob Johns, Jr (Rob) opened Avellino’s in Garden City in 2010. And, now in 2019 the new Johns’ family adventure has arrived - SABELI!
